This class focuses on developing heightened body awareness and learning alignment principles. We use a functional approach to yoga to build strength and flexibility. A well-rounded practice to suit all levels.
By aligning and refining our postures we find more awareness in our body. This class includes a gentle warm-up, activation of the core muscles, and a sequence that gradually builds to our apex pose where we explore the dynamics of balance, strength, and staying power. Postures will, of course, be adapted to each individual.
Yin yoga is a slow-paced passive practice that focuses on nourishing the connective tissue in the joints and releasing constrictions in the fascia to allow prana or energy to move more efficiently through the body. Seated and supine postures are held for 3-5 minutes.
A weaving of yoga and creation! We occasionally pair up with open ended expressive arts studio for a fun event of playing with color, form, and movement. These workshops are intended to get us out of our heads and into our playful selves to explore positive facets of renewal. Guided creative adventures (all supplies included) interspersed with movement to keep things flowing.
Yoga Nidra is a meditative practice. The practitioner is guided to move awareness through different points of the body, ultimately bringing the mind inward. Often translated as yogic sleep this practice is deeply relaxing, and replenishing.
