Yin Yoga

Thursday, June 13, 5-7 pm

Thursday, July 25 5-7 pm

The practice of yin yoga is a sequence of passive postures that nourish our body’s connective tissue. Yin is a wonderful way to balance a busy life and is complementary to active yoga practices. As postures are held sensations move deeper into the body and allow for profound release. The practice of yin can quiet the mind, heal injuries, and infuse the body with calm energy.  Think slow, softening, deepening, melting…Poses are sustained anywhere from 1 to 5 minutes.

This two-hour practice will include a gentle warm-up, a full yin practice, and a long rest in savasana.

Breathe and Restore

Sunday, June 2, 10am-noon

Our breath is directly linked to our nervous system. How you breathe matters; it affects your physical, mental, and emotional health. This class will explore several yogic breathing methods woven into a sequence of restorative yoga postures. The breathing techniques will allow you to access your parasympathetic nervous system (rest and repair), give you insight into your current breath patterns, and help you develop healthy breathing habits.

Restorative yoga is one of the gentlest forms of practice. By using props to hold the body in quiet, passive postures you get a uniquely restful experience.
